My story behind these ebooks

When my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, I felt like the world was crashing down on me. And to make matters even harder, I was traveling, far away from him and everything that was happening. I tried to get back immediately, but I couldn't get a ticket until several days later. The longest days of my life…

Meanwhile, my son spent several days hospitalized, and together with his father, they had to learn to count carbohydrates, understand how insulin worked, calculate doses amidst uncertainty and exhaustion, and at the same time, contain their emotions and mine, as I was physically far away, but with my heart and mind 100% in the hospital.

During those days, I read everything I could about the subject, asked my husband to ask the doctors a thousand questions, and tried to keep my mind occupied looking for help. It didn't help much. When I got back, I hugged my son tightly and settled into this new life with type 1 diabetes at home. I was overcome by a terrible feeling of being alone, that no one really understood what it meant to live with this condition 24 hours a day, and a terrible fear of making mistakes. Food, going out, birthdays, school… everything seemed like an enormous challenge.

Over time, and after many tears, mistakes, and lessons learned, I began to find simpler ways to manage. I discovered recipes my son enjoyed without his blood sugar spiking, strategies for explaining what it meant to have type 1 diabetes at school, and resources that brought peace of mind back to me and a normal life back to him. At that time, I never would have imagined that a year later, he would be going on a school exchange program, spending 10 days away from home, and without any major problems (well, almost!).

That's why I created this collection of ebooks.

These aren't just recipe books or guides: they reflect everything I wish I'd had at the beginning. I don't want any mom to feel alone or lost. I want to help them have practical, clear, and loving tools at hand to make everyday life easier (and so that Type 1 Diabetes isn't the only topic of conversation at home!).

Because behind every number in the blood glucose test there is a child who deserves to enjoy their childhood, and a mother who needs to feel supported.
